A Fresh Look for a Familiar Name

Together, we created:

From Blank Slate to Brand-Ready

Joey runs a landscaping and outdoor contracting business in New Jersey. While this is his own venture, he comes from a family with deep roots in the local trades—and a name folks in town already recognize.

That’s why the visual identity needed to strike a balance: something that felt solid and familiar, but clearly distinct from what came before.

Design That Honors His Roots—Without Staying Stuck There

I created a look that blends tradition and forward momentum, pairing a classic serif font (Garamond) with a clean sans serif (Open Sans) to strike a balance between old-school trust and modern clarity.

The color palette draws from the town’s official colors, adding a meaningful layer of connection to Joey’s local community.

To make ongoing use easy, I built everything in Canva—a free platform he can use to update assets or download files anytime.

I delivered:

  • Logo Variations: Multiple styles and color options for web, print, and signage
  • Business Card Designs: Customizable with his info and insurance details
  • Truck Decal Designs: High-contrast graphics for visibility on the road
  • Brand Board: A one-stop reference for fonts, colors, and file access


To support the handoff, I also recorded a short video walkthrough showing Joey how to customize, edit, and use each asset with confidence.

This quick-turn project gave Joey everything he needed to hit the ground running—with a look that felt professional and familiar, yet entirely his own.

Now he has a brand identity that respects where he’s from, and supports where he’s going.
